At The Sports Trust, we believe that sport has a powerful and positive role to play on the personal and professional development of young people.
Our Sports Academies have been creatively designed for talented athletes to train and compete in world-class facilities, all whilst supporting them to work towards academic and vocational qualifications in a full-time programme.
We offer diverse opportunities for students to take part in a variety of different sports, from football and basketball to climbing and paddlesports.
We have an exciting variety of sessions that are designed to keep children entertained. Each HERO Holiday Camp features a range of activities and gives children the chance to experience new things, from football and tennis to balance bikes and pickleball.
It is no secret that being physically active is linked to positive mental well-being. Sport grants people the opportunity to solve problems, develop resilience, intuitively assess rapidly changing situations, practice the balance between individual and collective strategy and challenge our perception of what we are capable of.
Our Sports Academies can help students develop their self-esteem, build resilience and feel a sense of purpose and belonging within themselves and their school community. Sports Academies develop unbreakable team spirit across all of the sports which will flood out into the rest of the school.

“I have always had a dream to experience academy football, to experience how professional footballers play and train. The coaching side of academy football has given me an insight into what it might be like to one day be a professional.”
– Colin
Sports Academies support students with their mental health and provide an understanding of sports psychology with an emphasis on the importance of healthy living and good nutrition.
We have seen that a healthy body and healthy mind result in a positive mindset, and compliments students’ academic progress and attendance.
Supporting students to secure a brighter future is an important part of Sports Academies, we help them to pursue professional elite contracts or university options, as well as guide their professional development as they step into the world of work. Whatever path they chose, The Sports Trust is best placed to help them achieve this.
